Non-Correspondence of the Social Laws to the Economic Capacities of the Country threatens the State Security
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement in the interview to Rada television channel.
He stated that Ukraine had a great many social laws adopted in the period of independence and in the Soviet times. New bills are also being drafted. V.Lytvyn claimed that extra UAH 140 billion were necessary to support their implementation, which equaled the sum of another state budget. "It threatens the national security of Ukraine and its statehood," he admitted. "The counteractions should be straightforward and effective."
"Social laws should no longer be adopted, while the applicable laws shall be implemented," V.Lytvyn stated. "The laws that fail to be implemented shall not be adopted, as it destroys the country."
